Frequently asked questions

I pride myself on personal attention and dedication to every detail. My approach is rooted in robust knowledge, quality and integrity, ensuring that everything I do reflects my commitment to excellence.

Is all your training for care home staff?

Most of my training is designed for front-line Health and Social Care Staff - regardless of their healthcare settings/environment. However, I am always happy to adapt my training to meet the needs of anyone who has an interest in learning more about dementia.

Do you ever work with family carers

Yes. I have worked with individual families, with small groups of family carers and spoken at numerous family carer events. I also work with a small group of family carers who share their own journeys with professional care workers.

Do you do on-line training?

I am happy to deliver training in whatever format suits the learner or their service. I prefer face-to-face training as I feel I can respond more immediately to learners responses. That said, 'virtual' learning is a fantastic way for learners to access training, especially if they might find it more difficult to travel to a venue.

Do you only deliver dementia training?

Although my specialist area is all things dementia-related, I'm always happy to discuss other learning needs.

Are you able to adapt your training for learners who don't have English as a fist language?

Yes. If I'm given sufficient warning, I can adapt and provide materials in dual language. I have also had experience of delivering training withinterpreters.

Do you provide handouts and certificates?

Yes. I provide comprehensive handouts and certificates of attendance

Do you ever speak at conferences?

Yes. I have presented at many, many conferences over the years

Have you ever had work published?

Yes. I have co-authored The Dementia Care Training Library, a series of dementia-specific training guides. The first in the series was published in 2021. The latest guide was published in 2023
